Job Description:

The Department of Sociology at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer in Sociology and Criminal Justice beginning Fall 2021. Applications will be kept on file in the Sociology Department for consideration for two years. The initial appointment will be for one semester. Teaching will be primarily in person, with the possibility of some online courses. The position carries the possibility for advancement through the positions of Assistant, Associate, and Full Adjunct Professor, with each promotion including additional benefits.

The Department of Sociology is home to majors in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Duties include but not limited to: teaching introductory level courses in sociology and criminal justice.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications: master's degree in criminal justice, criminology, or sociology.

Preferred: PhD or ABD in criminal justice, criminology, or sociology; teaching and/or professional experience within the criminal justice system; and experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience.
