The Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science beginning Fall 2022. Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development.

The Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences is housed in the College's School of Education, Human Ecology and Sport Studies. The department offers two B.S. degrees, Exercise Science and Sport Management, and two minors, Sports Management and Athletic Coaching. Job Description:

Duties include but not limited to:

teaching undergraduate courses related to exercise science, such as strength and conditioning, biomechanics, exercise testing and prescription, exercise prescription for special populations, introduction to exercise science, and related courses to meet department needs; advising students; overseeing internships; providing service to the Department, School, and College; and creating a professional research agenda.

Requirements:

Required qualifications:

doctorate in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise biochemistry, movement science, human performance, or related field (ABD considered, doctorate required at time of first renewal notification).

Preferred:

experience teaching at the university level; experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or service with diverse and/or multicultural populations.
