Job Description:
The State University of New York at Oneonta is seeking applications for the position of Sports Information Director. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure position. The University is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and sponsors 21 Division III varsity sports.

Duties include but not limited to:
The successful candidate will be responsible for
All aspects of the sports information office within the athletic department
Media relations administration and promotion for 21 NCAA varsity sports
Management of sports information budget
Supervision of professional staff along with supervision and training of student workers to support programming, development and planning for the sports information office and all sporting events
Development of public relations and communication strategies to enhance the visibility and image of the athletic program and the university as a whole
Responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong media contacts, organizing community relations activities, and the oversight of athletic event score tables, statistics, and results reporting
Production of all media releases and serves as the department liaison to the media
Maintaining the athletic homepage and collection of all historical data pertinent to the department
Submits all NCAA and conference schedules, rosters, statistics, as well as weekly, annual, and end of season nominations for various awards
Participate in planning and preparation for athletic department special events
Ensure compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations
They will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Proficient working knowledge of NCAA Livestats, StatCrew scoring software, and PrestoSports statistical software
Experience in webpage use and development
Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred:
Master's degree
Experience working in a sports information office
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software
Working knowledge of social media platforms specifically Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
Supervisory experience of professional or student staff
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
