About SUNY Oneonta:

SUNY Oneonta is inviting applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach Graphic Design courses in Fall '22. Courses to be taught: Graphic Design, Advanced Graphic Design, and Typography. These courses are part of the BS in Digital and Studio Art, and the BFA in Art and Design programs in the Art Department. Syllabus and projects for each course are available. Emphasis is on graphic design principles, professional software skills, typographic knowledge, and portfolio building.

Job Description:

Duties:

Provide excellent instruction and facilitate student engagement.

Provide grades and feedback on progress throughout the semester.

Strive for student success in preparing to enter the professional Graphic Design field.

Cover the required technical and theoretical aspects of the syllabus.

Maintain student attendance records.

Submit interim and final grades by published deadlines.

Each class meets twice weekly. Each class period is 1 hour and 50 minutes.

The Fall '22 semester starts on August 29. Last class is December 12.

Graphic Design is scheduled for Tuesday/Thursday, 12:00-1:50.

Advanced Graphic Design is scheduled for Monday/Wednesday 11:00-12:50

Typography is scheduled for Monday/Wednesday 1:00-2:50

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Graphic Design or a related area

Professional experience in Graphic Design

Expert skills in InDesign and Illustrator and a working knowledge of Photoshop

Experience teaching at college-level

Preferred

Experience with a learning management system such as Blackboard

In-person classroom instruction (although online classes are also a possibility)
