About the Center for Population Health Research

and UM

CPHR is a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) funded by the National Institutes of Health and hosts an interdisciplinary, collaborative group of investigators focused on improving health with an emphasis on rural and children’s health. Investigators supported through CPHR engage in a variety of public health research topics and approaches, including epidemiology, mathematical modeling, exposure science, behavioral health and vaccine research. The Center includes two research support cores. The Data and Modeling Core provides capture and management of sensitive data, biostatistical and mathematical modeling approaches and the high-performance computational resources required to develop and apply these modeling approaches. The Intervention Support Core provides researchers with the quantitative (e.g., survey development) and qualitative (e.g., focus group) stakeholder input to inform next research steps and translation of findings to thoughtful and testable intervention strategies. In this way, we provide expert support to Center investigators for building future mixed methods intervention research.
