is seeking qualified candidates for the position of
Distance Learning Program Director
The Distance Learning Program Director
is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the MTDA instructional program. The Distance Learning Program Director
’s key function is to ensure that MTDA students receive the highest quality courses and instruction. This position will work under the direction of the Assistant Director/Curriculum Director. This position is responsible for the continual, ongoing monitoring and supervision of all MTDA instructors and for conducting all semesterly performance reviews. The Distance Learning Program Director
is responsible for the implementation of the new teacher orientation and professional development programs for all MTDA instructors.
The Distance Learning Program Director
is responsible for managing the GeniusSIS student information system, Moodle Learning Management System, WordPress content management system, Google Apps for Education system, data analysis software, and other MTDA content management and software systems. In consultation with the Assistant Director/Curriculum Director, the Distance Learning Program Director
designs, implements, and manages key instructional programs, including MTDA original credit and credit recovery programs. The Distance Learning Program Director
also provides MTDA help desk customer support and training to local school facilitators and/or other staff.
The Distance Learning Program Director
is responsible for researching, vetting, and managing technical platforms to provide tools and services to internal MTDA staff, MTDA teaching staff, site facilitators, parents and students. When commercial tools are unavailable, lack appropriate functionality, or are cost-prohibitive, the Distance Learning Program Director
will develop appropriate solutions, including planning, developing, testing/quality control, implementing and managing these solutions which include but are not limited to the student data processing systems, help desk, learning object repository and other MTDA systems and applications. Additionally, the Distance Learning Program Director
is a member of the MTDA management and budget teams.

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Salary for this position is $86,669 per year commensurate with qualifications.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Montana secondary teaching or administrative certificate
Three (3) years teaching or administrative experience in a secondary school/classroom
Experience managing technology assets, including LMS servers, email platforms, and Google Apps for Education
Experience with teaching an online course or as an online student
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or Terminal Degree (Ed.S., Ed.D., Ph.D.)
Two or more (2 ) years of supervisory experience
Experience with HR/teacher evaluation
Experience developing online courses and/or online course assets
Project Management
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Competency-based education
Gifted/talented programming and/or courses
Special education
Career/Technical Education
