Position Description:
This role is primarily located at UofL's Ft. Knox campus. It serves as the institution's principal liaison with Ft. Knox, ensuring the institution adheres to the requirements of the Department of Defense Voluntary Education Memorandum of Understanding. As the principal liaison, it represents the institution to senior Ft. Knox leadership and the Education Center/Education Services Officer (ESO), attending the ESO's monthly staff meetings, or other ESO meeting as required. It serves as the entry point for all UofL initiatives involving Ft. Knox, receiving, analyzing, and determining appropriate courses of action regarding. It is the institution's focal point for processing military Tuition Assistance (TA) from all branches of the Armed Forces, and military residency coding. It develops a comprehensive outreach/recruiting strategy for military installations around the country, cultivating relationships and selectively attending education fairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Twenty percent) This position leads UofL's Ft. Knox campus, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and creating processes and procedures for the successful completion of responsibilities. As the installation's liaison to Ft. Knox, it oversees, directs, and facilitates external community relationships at the installation. It represents the institution at education and career fairs, college nights and to senior installation and community leaders through attendance at events on the installation (I.E., deployment events, homecoming events, change of command events, graduation ceremonies). It consults with the College of Education and Human Development regarding Army grants with Ft. Knox, particularly the Master Educator Course (MEC). It overseas Ft. Knox's National Testing Center to administer exams and processes payments.
(Fifty percent) It leads the institution's Tuition Assistance (TA) processing program for all branches of the Armed Forces, establishing processes and procedures for service member TA enrollment in UofL programs (online and on-campus), It develops, implements, and maintains an active engagement process with internal UofL stakeholders (Bursar, Registrar, Student Financial Aid, Academic Advisors) to ensure they are aware of TA policy, processes, and procedures. It engages with servicemembers regarding TA issues via phone and email, and it engages with installation Education Offices around the nation, when necessary for individual TA issues. It leads the institution's residency coding program for the reduced military tuition rate for all branches of the Armed Forces, establishing procedures to ensure an efficient and robust process. It develops, implements, and maintains an active engagement process with internal UofL stakeholders (Bursar, Registrar, Student Financial Aid, Academic Advisors) to ensure they are aware of or residency coding policy.
(Twenty percent) It creates, oversees, and refines a strategy for military-connected student recruitment, developing relationships with Installation Education Centers through outreach, selectively attending installation education fairs. It advises units on policies and assists them develop strategies regarding recruiting military-connected students and recruiting on military installations.
(Ten percent) Other duties as assigned, including supporting the President, Provost, and the Director of the Center for Military-Connected Students with execution of special projects.
