Position Description
An Executive in Residence (EiR) is a part-time Instructor Term position. It is anticipated than an EiR will teach one course per semester (e.g., 3 credit hours each in Fall and Spring; may teach Summer, but will not be required to teach more than two total courses). Additionally, a priority for an EiR is supporting community outreach YUM Center activities.
As a part-time employee, EiRs will be provided with office space at the Forcht Center for Entrepreneurship, where they can maintain a campus presence, holding office hours for about 20 hours per week.
Anticipated pay is about $30K per year, negotiable, for this is a part time position. The initial term of the employment contract will be 1-2 years, with the understanding that a mutually beneficial relationship may end with the entrepreneur deciding not to renew the contract as they pursue their own incubated new venture. Renewals are possible, but an applicant's lack of long-term interest beyond two years should not discourage qualified individuals from applying.
