Position Description:
Develop, direct and coordinate activities for multiple pathways to initial teacher certification through the Urban Teacher Residency and Alternative Certification programs. Provide admission processing and counseling for MAT program applicants.
Coordinate the operational activities of the programs including the transcript review process, certification paperwork tracking, track of cohort milestones, assist with student cohort registration, serve as the main point of contact for these programs, coordinate fiscal activities for the programs including travel, university supervisor pay requests and contracts along with monitoring budget expenditures. Serve as liaison with various recruitment organizations, and school districts, specifically JCPS and other OVEC districts, while coordinating meetings and special events, and monitor service accounts.
The Urban Teacher Residency and Alternative Certification programs are critical in supporting the enrollment of the EMSTEd Department and Graduate CEHD programs. These programs support over 100 graduate students per year in addition to over 100 prospective students in various stages of admission.
Dual Credit:
Provide leadership and direct the CEHD dual credit program including activities related to teacher recruitment, high school dual credit student admission and registration, and evaluation, continuous improvement, and growth of the program. Participate in UofL CEHD activities and events through engagement with schools, through dual credit initiatives. Create strategies to engage high schools across Kentucky in the participation of the CEHD's new dual credit program. Assist with other related admission and P-12 - UofL dual credit program responsibilities. Liaison with University UG admissions related to the program. Lead efforts, working with UofL and CEHD administration, CEHD Office of Academic Affairs and Unit Effectiveness, CEHD Teaching and Learning Faculty, and the CEHD Education Advising and Student Services Office on diversity initiatives in teacher education program improvement, through collaboration with the Minority Teacher Recruitment Project (MTRP) and in STEM initiatives (both are CAEP and EPSB-submitted enrollment management growth plans). Ensure the accountability and continuous improvement of data collection for the dual credit program to meet accreditation standards and the CEHD's Scorecard goals. Attend and present at state and district meetings on dual credit program initiatives
