Description:
The University of Plymouth is seeking a Assistant Operations and Maintenance Analyst to join their Technology and Information Services (TIS) teams. TIS focuses on providing efficient IT services with a cloud-first approach, increasing digital capabilities for staff and students, and ensuring a seamless and edgeless end-to-end digital experience for all stakeholders. Under the direction of the Infrastructure Team Manager and as a member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient IT operations and maintenance service. You will also monitor the status of production IT services, provide 1st line user support, carries out routine operational tasks and manages IT facilities. You will contribute to the delivery of an effective and flexible IT operations & maintenance service, offering support, training and guidance to team members as appropriate. You will process and issue information, correspondence and documentation in line with service needs. In addition to this, you will interface with customers, partners and stakeholders, provides advice, communicates changes and respond to enquiries and requests in an effective and timely manner and contributes to team work planning to meet the changing needs of the service. You must be able to collaborate with team members and peers across the University to exchange knowledge and achieve joint projects and objectives. You will carry out real-time reactive IT service monitoring, proactively correlates predictive events and trends, and logs incidents and problems, escalating as appropriate. You will also monitor data centres and other IT facilities, escalating issues as appropriate. Skills and experience required include; excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills, good working knowledge/training of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint and databases, relevant IT functional/professional qualifications are highly desirable.
