This position will assist with the day-to-day management of the Office of Financial Services, and reports to the Director for Graduate Student Financial Services. The Managing/Associate Director assists in the execution of the financial aid program designed to assist graduate and professional students with their investment in a Suffolk education. The Managing/Associate Director also collaborates with the director to ensure the policies and practices in financial aid will create outstanding customer service moments for current and prospective Suffolk students.\u00A0\u00A0 The Managing/Associate director will work to eliminate barriers that students may face and create efficient, service friendly ideas for the benefit of students.Expertise and knowledge of graduate and professional student Financial Aid processes and procedures; knowledge of Federal Financial Aid programs, regulations and guidelines; proficiency with the use of job-related software programs; skill in interpersonal relations and ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers.Primary Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with federal financial aid regulations.\u00A0 Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives. Develop and/or assist with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program. Implement financial aid awarding strategies.\u00A0 Establish office policies and procedures that reflect fair and objective distribution of aid, and participate in financial aid appeals.Review financial aid applications and award students in caseload of graduate and professional students.\u00A0 Manage a caseload of students.\u00A0 Counsel students regarding financial aid programs.\u00A0 Coordinate the financial aid award process for a designated group of students by coordinating the cycle of awards and reviewing and revising aid application materials.Manage awarding and ensure compliance for donor scholarship programs for graduate and professional students.In conjunction with the Director of Graduate Financial Aid, assist with the oversight of two Assistant Directors.\u00A0 Create an open, welcoming, and inclusive environment in the Office of Financial Aid that actively supports prospective and current students and their families.Represent the Office of Student Financial Services at various on and off-campus events as needed, including occasional evening and weekend hours.Coordinate and deliver financial literacy content for graduate and professional students.Requirements/Qualification:\u00A0 \u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Bachelor\u2019s degree; \u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 5 years\u2019 experience in financial aid administration with progressive leadership roles;\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills;\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Exemplary customer service skills;\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Ability to work under continual deadlines requiring great attention to detail while managing competing responsibilities;\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Exceptional written and oral communication skills; \u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Minimum of five years of experience working with the student information system (Colleague or Workday preferred)\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Minimum of five years of supervisory experience;\u2022\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0 Minimum of five years of recent professional experience in higher education financial aid including demonstrated expertise in financial aid programs and regulations.The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to help developing and implementing the University\u2019s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies and goals.A limited hybrid schedule is available and will incorporate a mix of in-office and remote work based on the needs of the office and the enrollment cycle.
