Conducting a job type search on EducationCrossing.com showed a significant rise in the number of active jobs—126,000 open positions, with more than 40,000 new jobs posted this week for educators in the following categories: Higher Education (38,900), Teacher (9,300) Professor (8,600), Education Teacher (3,900), Education Director (3,700), and High School Teacher (1,180). "The employment outlook is bright for those pursuing a career in education," said Barnes. "This is especially true for those seeking employment in urban and rural school districts."
