School for Friends has been serving the District of Columbia- Maryland and Virginia families for over 39 years. Since 1981, we have been providing a high-quality, caring, and supportive educational environment for children and families, implementing research-based best practices. We are open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, year-round.
We are a member of the Friends Council on Education. We are licensed by the District of Columbia and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We have received numerous awards and recognition in our over 39-year history.
We are looking for a full-time Lead Teachers to join our team to work with young children in SY 2021-2022. We are in the heart of Washington, DC, walking distance from Dupont Circle Metro Station.
*The Lead Teacher is responsible for supervising the classroom, including the children and the teaching team.

Minimum education requirement:
Experience working with young children in an inclusive classroom setting. AA or BA in Early Childhood Education. A college degree in a related field along with experience working with young children will be considered.
Experience working with young children in a group setting.
