Opportunity at a GlancenChamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program studying at our Cleveland campus. n nChamberlain College of Nursing clinical educators experience the powerful satisfaction that comes from helping educate, empower and embolden students and advance the health of people, families, and communities as we face new challenges ahead together.n nWe are presently accepting applications for the July 2022 session in the following specialization:n nMaternal Child NursingnThis course focuses on family-centered approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health promotion and wellness issues. The childbearing cycle, including normal experience, high-risk factors, complications and alterations are studied. Additional womenu2019s health issues are included. n nClinical teaching is typically scheduled for at least one weekday, weeknight, or weekend (multiple schedule options may be available) for an 8-week session at a clinical partner site.n nChamberlain students experience practice settings that include large and small hospitals, long-term care facilities, community and public-health agencies, faith-based service organizations, independent practices, ambulatory care centers, public health agencies, military services (Army, Navy, and Air Force), VA Medical Centers, schools, home health environmentsu2026anywhere healthcare is delivered.n nIf you have interest in full-time teaching opportunities, please click here to learn more!n nWe build long-term relationships with superior nurse educators who are experts in their field and committed to providing the finest in practitioner-focused education.n nProof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.n nn n n n Responsibilitiesnn Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and service to the College, community, health system and profession.n Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.n Plans clinical experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.n Makes self-available to staff at the agencies.n Evaluates and provides documented feedback to student on level of performance based on course objectives.n Is available for remediation of students as required or needed.n Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel.n Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning needs.n Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.n Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.n May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.n Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.n Works with college administration, staff and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.n Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.n Serves as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.n Utilizes relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.n Complies with applicable regulatory rules and standards.n Reports to dean, assistant dean, or course coordinator.nn Qualificationsnn A bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or universityn An unencumbered professional nursing licensen At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nursen Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not requiredn Clinical skills competency verification- Evidence of clinical competency via CV/resume/portfolio- Annual self-assessment using NLN clinical nurse educator competencies- Annual self-assessment of clinical nursing skills using the Chamberlain University Faculty Assistant/Teaching Assistant Self Assessment of Clinical Skillsn Have genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learningn Have exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skillsn Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and caren Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader communitynnThank you for applying for this outstanding opportunity today!n EEOWe are proud to be an EEO employer M/F/D/V.
