IT Instructor (part-time) (Accelerated 11-week Program)
No Supervisory Responsibilities Associated With This Position.

The Computer and Digital Technologies Department is seeking an enthusiastic professional that has a passion for teaching and helping students succeed in their chosen field. The Computer and Digital Technologies Department is comprised of a team of highly skilled and dedicated individuals that demonstrate excellence in the classroom.

Teach all or most of the courses in our IT Tech and Support Certificate using techniques and pedagogies effective for a group of diverse students.
Specific Courses: CIS 128 Operating Systems: Windows, OSX, Linux, CNG 121 and 122 Computer Technician I and II (CompTIA A Certification)
NOTE: This is part of a special 11-week accelerated program. Courses will be face-to-face, online, and hybrid.
This position starts in early March and ends in mid-May. Instructor needs to be available from 8 am to 4 pm during this period, Monday through Friday. There are multiple opening. Apply for all if qualified and available.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments that lead students to the successful attainment of identified course competencies
Evaluate student performance in accordance with student learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus
Teach assigned classes in keeping with community college philosophy
Be knowledgeable about pedagogy, methods, retention, inclusion, and assessment of outcomes (or be available and willing to receive training in these areas)
One week prior to the first day of class, provide the Faculty Lead as well as department assistant with a copy of the course syllabus
At the first class meeting, provide students with a syllabus for the course that includes all components of the course model syllabus and the competencies established in the Colorado Common Course Numbering System
Conduct student evaluations of instruction in accordance with established policies and procedures at the end of the semester
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grading of students and submit no-shows, grades, and required records to the college via Banner by the required deadlines
Attend required meetings
Complete the DesireToLearn (D2L) training and New Faculty Orientation
Participate in coaching/mentoring and assessment initiatives established by Department Chair and/or Faculty Lead
Associate’s degree in any Computer Technology discipline
Has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential including 4000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years (2000 hours if at Bachelor’s or higher)
5 years (full-time equivalent) non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years in the content area
Industry certification in the content area
Has, or qualifies for, postsecondary CTE credential
CompTIA A Certification (highly recommended)
Experience teaching in a community college setting
Experience teaching in an accelerated (boot camp) program
Knowledge and understanding of Inclusive Excellence
Instructional hours will be paid at the current adjunct rate, which is $824.00 per credit hour. Many of our classes are 3 to 4 credit hours.
This position starts in early March and ends in mid-May. Instructor needs to be available from 8 am to 4 pm during this period, Monday through Friday. There are no insurance benefits offered with these positions. However, other benefits associated with this type of position include a pension plan through the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) and eligibility to contribute to supplemental retirement plans.
