Position Summary:

The Office of Student Enrollment (OSE) manages admissions, enrollment, and transfers for students in 3-K through grade 12 (not including charter schools). The team also oversees policies and processes for citywide Gifted and Talented programs and the Public School Choice (PSC) transfer process. The Office of Student Enrollment supports the New York City Department of Education’s core priorities by designing and implementing admissions policies and processes that provide all students with access to high-quality public schools.

The Supervisor of Satellite Enrollment Sites will be responsible for supervising 3 Satellite Enrollment Sites to ensure that all enrollment-related issues are addressed in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and rules and regulations of the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE). The Supervisor of Satellite Enrollment Sites will collaborate with the Director of Field Operations and the Senior Executive Director of Enrollment and other central Office of Student Enrollment (OSE) staff on the development and implementation of policy directives, analysis, and interpretation of relevant data, and implementation of procedural initiatives that support the DOE’s student enrollment programs. The Supervisor will also be responsible for organizing participation in and ensuring field logistical support for Back to School, workshops, fairs, and parent meetings sponsored by OSE to support admissions processes. Performs related work.

Key Relationships:

Works closely with OSE staff members, including the Director of Field Operations, Senior Executive Director of Enrollment, Director of Field Management Systems and other members of the Field Executive team. Also serves as a contact for families, community-based organizations, school support staff, principals, and other school personnel on enrollment-related policy and process issues.

Responsibilities

Supervises three (3) or more Satellite Enrollment Sites and ensures that OSE guidelines, and policies and procedures are followed and excellent customer service is provided to families.

Responsible for managing professional development and performance management for the Satellite Enrollment Sites.

Manages all escalations and provides timely resolutions to families and OSE Field Executive team.

Directs principals in adhering to departmental enrollment and admissions policies and practices.

Represents OSE, the Director of Operations and the Senior Executive Director of Enrollment in internal and external meetings/venues when necessary.

Conducts site visits and walk-throughs of Satellite Enrollment Sites to ensure smooth operations.

Works collaboratively with Field leadership and staff to ensure the consistent and effective application of best educational and operational practices, developing key relationships to ensure the smooth flow of information and effective work processes.

Monitors day-to-day operations and supervises the work and functions of staff assigned to the Satellite Enrollment Sites.

Participates in and ensures staffing for school fairs, parent workshops, and other enrollment-related events.

Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and City laws, rules, regulations, and policies governing student enrollment.

Prepares and delivers presentations to staff and external groups.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum

A master’s degree from an accredited college in education, guidance, educational administration and supervision, or a related field and at least two (2) years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in educational program administration, career or occupational program administration, or as a state certified or licensed teacher, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory/consultative capacity; or

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three (3) years of full-time satisfactory professional experience as described in “1” above; or

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization plus seven (7) years of full-time, satisfactory professional experience as described in “1” above; or

A combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to the requirements in 1, 2, and “3” above. However, all candidates must have at least an approved four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent as well as the two (2) years of full-time satisfactory professional experience as described in “1” above.

Preferred

Successful experience in managing a complex, multifaceted organization.

Familiarity with Service Cloud, ATS, MySchools and STARS.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.

Knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues for the placement and enrollment of students with disabilities.

Capacity to work under pressure and effectively prioritize in a demanding environment.

Knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues for the placement and enrollment of students with disabilities.

Knowledge of instructional methodologies and the continuum of services for students with disabilities.

Demonstrated commitment and community related experience and/or working with families, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; and ability to foster constructive, collegial working relationships with colleagues.

Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultural groups

Internal candidates preferred.

$92,359
