Duties performed are of a complex and varied secretarial/administrative nature in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work. This position requires a high degree of decision-making, confidentiality and independence of action. This is the most senior level office professional position and while it incorporates elements of other levels, it has a majority of effort associated with more complex administrative support services.
High school diploma or
Four years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to four years.
Experience with Microsoft Word.
Customer service experience.
Spreadsheet and/or database experience.
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Duties & Responsibilities
Chair support, including scheduling and correspondence.
Acts with high degree of independence as liaison with students, visitors, faculty, staff and other individuals both on and off campus.
Coordinates and monitors work flow of another office professional and student office assistants.
Maintains and analyzes set of complex budgetary records for several accounts by performing bookkeeping-related duties such as reconciling, monitoring, making and tracking expenditures.
Processes faculty, staff and student payroll and maintains all associated records.
Interviews, hires, schedules and supervises student office assistants.
Prepares and tracks faculty travel reimbursement vouchers, and maintains records pertaining to faculty travel and discretionary fund budgets.
Budgeting paperwork for faculty grants.
Purchasing and maintenance of associated records.
Holds departmental credit card.
Reconciles credit card statement monthly, maintains credit card receipts and associated records, utilizes account maintenance software to properly assign credit card expense to correct accounts.
Curricular material preparation, distribution and tracking.
Maintains departmental Master Course Syllabi.
Proofreads Bulletin copy to ensure curricular changes have been updated.
Prepares internal departmental enrollment reports.
Prepares paperwork for Vending Fund reimbursement, including all associated paperwork and file maintenance.
Prepares independent contractor agreements.
Creates and maintains personnel records.
Assists with personnel-related activities.
Organizes departmental searches.
Assists chair with class scheduling, and all class schedule changes.
Student scholarship preparation and processing.
Assists students with complicated, non-routine registration issues.
Coordinates departmental events.
Departmental website oversight
Maintains department equipment inventory documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
