The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invite applications for two 9-month, open rank (tenure track) faculty positions in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) beginning August, 2019. Final rank and title will be commensurate with education and experience. The preferred candidates will have research expertise in one or more of the following areas: dysphagia, voice, neurocognition, motor speech, and/or fluency with a documented research record or promise of a strong research agenda and extramural funding. The primary functions include research in area of expertise, teaching, and service to the Department, College, and University. The University of Cincinnati is a Carnegie Research-1 institution and the College sits on UC's medical campus within a block of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, UC Health, UC Physicians, the medical school, the Barrett Center, the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs, and the soon-to-open UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute. A large number of vibrant collaborations exist with numerous opportunities for new ones. CSD fosters a supportive and collaborative environment with a variety of programming. In addition to audiology and speech-language pathology programs, the Department has a robust Ph.D. program with a strong enrollment history. The candidates will be able to independently teach undergraduate and graduate coursework in SLP and related areas. ABD candidates are welcome to apply, but the doctorate must be completed prior to the start date.
*Eligibility for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology *Terminal research degree (Ph.D.) in the discipline or related area *Ability to articulate a scholarly agenda and relevant potential funding sources *Speech-language pathology teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level *Evidence of working with students in classroom and clinical settings *Evidence of excellent communication and organizational skills
*Post-Doctoral in area of the candidates' expertise *Ohio Licensure in SLP eligible *Teaching, clinical, and research experience *Demonstrated success in intra- and/or extra-mural grantsmanship

The CSD department has a large and diverse graduate program including distance learning and campus MA-SLP programs, an AuD program, and a Ph.D. program. We also have a well-established undergraduate program. In addition, our department has an on-site speech and hearing clinic that provides student training and clinical services. The department is CAA-accredited and is ranked 39th by US News and World Report for Speech Language Pathology, and for 26th Audiology. The Department is excited for the opening of its brand new building which will offer state-of-the art classrooms, clinic space, and research labs.
