General Purpose
Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis Campus is seeking an Assistant Director of Upward
Bound Program as our newest TRIO program, at Ivy Tech Indy. The Upward Bound Program will
focus on Ben David 9th grade center and Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. The new assistant
director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and supervising the UB
curriculum, summer academy, and other facets of the UB grant. The assistant director will report to
the Upward Bound Director. This is a five (5) year grant program eligible for renewal.
Major Responsibilities:
Facilitates the development and implementation of all aspects of the UB grant, such as
Summer Academy.
Contributes to the generation long and short-range strategies to effectively serve the needs
of high school students.
Creates student files for case management and develop IAPs in conjunction with students,
parents, and high school personnel.
Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, training, and evaluation of UB staff.
Foster internal and external relationships with faculty, staff, administrator, and students with
the college, affiliated high schools, and community partners.
Maintain program data and track program goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (education, leadership, math, science, business) and
3-5 years of experience, or equivalent (Master's and two years of experience).

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical or problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and people skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Salary Range:

Hiring Range:
40, 000-45,000 annually
