Missoula College at the University of Montana in Missoula invites applications for a tenure- track, academic year Assistant Professor to serve as Program Director of Information Technology in the Department of Applied Computing & Engineering Technology. The program director is an instructional faculty position. The primary duty is teaching with limited responsibilities involving service duties, and creative scholarship. In addition, program directors at Missoula College are responsible for student advising, curriculum leadership, adjunct faculty supervision, and workforce alignment.
Baccalaureate degree in information technology, computer science, management of information systems, or other relevant fields of study with preference given to masters or doctoral prepared individuals
Industry-based certifications (Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) in Information Technology topics such as IT networking, system administration, project management, operating systems, cybersecurity, etc.
Teaching and student assessment experience
Curriculum and lab development experience
Online teaching experience
Ability to advise and counsel students
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Industry experience or the ability to work with local industry needs
The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively teach a variety of computer science and IT courses, work independently and collaboratively with faculty, advise students, develop curriculum, supervise instructors, lead an academic program of study, work with local employers and industry to align curriculum with workforce needs, and contribute to the department, Missoula College, and University of Montana.
