The Department of Geriatric Medical Education is seeking a Program Coordinator.

 

POSITION JOB DESCRIPTION:

*With the direction of the Director, assist in planning, designing, evaluating, and coordinating the Geriatric Education program, Geriatric residency and fellowships. *Assist with and coordinate recruitment and retention of faculty. This includes but is not limited to compiling licensure and other information for preceptors’ volunteer faculty appointments/reappointments. *Compile required paperwork, student packets, and maintain files on geriatric faculty. *Coordinate Faculty, fellow and student calendars. *Assist in the set up and coordination of Division events, educational activities, speakers and guests, including assisting in travel arrangements, sites and program materials. *Other tasks assigned by the Division Director or Chairman of the department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with one (1) years experience OR Associate’s degree with three (3) years experience OR five (5) years experience.  Experience must be in program coordination.

 

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS:

*Experience with graduate medical education. Experience working in interdisciplinary teams. Experience working within a medical setting. *Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and attention to detail. *Familiarity with principles of medical education *Excellent administrative and computer skills (experience with Microsoft office programs, i.e., Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) *Ability to write and administer simply surveys, both paper and electronically (i.e., survey monkey, WuFoo, etc.) *Superb organizational skills *Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills (eg, communicate well with faculty, other staff, medical students, COM staff, community facilities, agencies, providers and their office staffs) *Experience with planning, designing, evaluating, and coordinating programs
