Job Summary

Faculty provide teaching and instruction to Columbia Southern University students and collaborate with other faculty to promote an engaging learning environment. In addition to the teaching responsibility, faculty serve as subject matter experts within their assigned discipline.

Essential Job Tasks

Additional duties may be assigned.

Teaches assigned courses within the qualified discipline including curriculum maintenance, innovation of content, curriculum assessment, and documentation.

Resolves academic concerns, including academic integrity, grade inflation, and grade challenges.

Participate in regular remote meetings and faculty development opportunities.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.

Serves as course content expert and reviews the course for rigor and currency as assigned.

Completes projects as directed by the Lead Faculty and Program Directors.

Education and/or Experience

Terminal degree in

Human Resources

, or related discipline, with at least 18 credit hours required in the field of human resources, or equivalent work experience.

Experience in university level teaching preferred.

Experience in creating and developing academic courses preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook Contact Management systems; Internet software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Experience with Blackboard preferred.
