The rules and requirements that you need to fulfill in order to become a teacher?
The job of a teacher is to instruct students and to evaluate them. They have to assign students homework, take quizzes, tests and other examinations. As a teacher you must be able to formulate a system which you will follow while teaching. You must be able to assemble study materials, and customize your instructions so that it can benefit individual pupil. In order to become a teacher, you must have good academic record, proper training and get the state's approval for teaching job.



Teachers of public schools must have certificates from state approving them their jobs. The license will determine whether the teacher will teach a particular subject or a number of subjects in a particular class.

Preschool teaching jobs:

Preschool teaching jobs fall under the category of elementary teaching jobs. The requirements for becoming a teacher in a preschool vary from state to state. In case of private schools, it depends on the employers. The requirements for becoming a preschool teacher are not much. You have to qualify a high school diploma or an equivalent degree. However, most schools require a bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education.

Kindergarten and elementary school teaching jobs:

A bachelor's degree is a must for this. The license from the state allows teachers to teach from kindergarten to sixth grade in almost all the states. The teachers are assigned particular time for teaching the kids and they are assigned particular subjects to teach also. This decision is made by the state.

Middle school teacher:

Teachers should hold bachelor's degree and also should do an internship. Most middle school teachers teach from class 5 to class 8. The teaching certificate allows them to teach some subjects. The subjects can be from the following:
  • Language,
  • arts,
  • math,
  • science,
  • physical education,
  • foreign language
  • And special education.
Secondary teacher:
A bachelor's degree along with a program of study in secondary education is needed. Secondary school teachers are eligible to teach all classes stating from middle school classes up till class 12.

College and university teacher:

Securing a place in a college or a university as a professor requires you to be a scholar. If you want to teach in a higher grade, you need to have qualification as well as experience. Just achieving a degree won't help you to become a professor in a university. You need to be very hard working and determined in order to secure yourself a teaching job in a university.

Teaching is a very respectable profession to be in. teaching salaries are good too.
