English teaching jobs are hugely in demand as English slowly gains acceptance the world over as the language for international communication. Note, though, that career growth is much faster and the pay checks much heftier if the English teaching job is based abroad.Most English teaching jobs based abroad are arranged on a contractual basis, and good performance typically leads to the renewal of a contract. And if you are thinking of such an English teaching job, do be prepared for a long stay since teachers are normally required to stay on for at least a whole term. And of course, staying on for the full term would work in you favor and make the English teaching job offer more lucrative.
The compensation packages for English teaching jobs abroad differ from country to country. Japan, for instance, is known to offer very high salaries for English teaching jobs. On the other side is Mexico, which has very little to offer in terms of salaries for English teachers. However, the cost of living, cultural values, etc. may also influence your decision on taking English teaching jobs abroad. Other considerations which could influence your choice of country for English teaching jobs could be free food and accommodation, housing facilities, medical insurance, etc.
