Education Jobs See Low Unemployment Rates and Project Optimistic Employment Outlook

Pasadena, CA - As per the article appearing on Yahoo News, the unemployment rate for those entering the field of elementary education is just 5%. This data notes that, although the employment rate may vary by region, the field of elementary education indicates overall promising growth. Additionally, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Outlook Handbook indicates that the job outlook through 2020 is expected to grow by 17%, with projected employment in the field to reach almost two million jobs.

The latest estimate of an increase in educational employment illustrates a job market that, according to the BLS and some economists, will continue to strengthen not only through the next year, but through the coming years. Conducting a job type search on EducationCrossing.com showed a significant rise in the number of active jobs—126,000 open positions, with more than 40,000 new jobs posted this week for educators in the following categories: Higher Education (38,900), Teacher (9,300) Professor (8,600), Education Teacher (3,900), Education Director (3,700), and High School Teacher (1,180). "The employment outlook is bright for those pursuing a career in education," said Barnes. "This is especially true for those seeking employment in urban and rural school districts."
