The Arts and Humanities Division at Howard Community College is seeking an enthusiastic candidate with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in traditional and technologically innovative teaching and learning for a full-time faculty position in photography, and to take on the role of photography coordinator. The position requires an MFA/MA degree in Visual Arts/Photography and a record of professional exhibitions as a working artist. To become a faculty member in the HCC’s highly successful visual arts program, the candidate must have demonstrated ability to teach fundamentals through advanced courses in digital photography as well as foundation courses such as 2-dimentional basic design or drawing I. The candidate should show a commitment to the community college mission and have experience with a diverse student population. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
MFA/MA in Photography or related field in visual arts.
Minimum of 3 years college teaching experience. Community College teaching experience preferred.
Other criterion such as academic program coordination experience is preferred. Duties include: curriculum development, class scheduling, adjunct hiring and supervision, ordering photographic supplies and overseeing the facilities.
