Howard Community College has one or more vacancies for Math tutors for Howard P.R.I.D.E. This program is a black make success initiative program.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide tutoring to Howard PRIDE students, serve as a liaison between the Assistant Director and Math Faculty. Coordinate math study hall when necessary. Track tutoring sessions and math progression of students.
WORK PERFORMED
Tutor PRIDE students individually and in groups of 2 (25) hours per week.
Serve as liaison between the Math Division and the Assistant Director
Update math materials in the Howard PRIDE math office
Attend Howard PRIDE meetings and events
Other duties may include, but are not limited to, coordinating the Math Workshops, and monitoring study halls.
Requirements:
B. A. or B. S. in related field.
Two years of tutoring, preferably on the college level in the area of mathematics.
Must have some experience working with Developmental Math level students.
Experience working with a diverse population of students with different learning styles and abilities.
