Computers have become an integral part of our lives today. Most of the world's population now owns or has access to computers at homes or in offices and schools. But not all of them, in fact not many of them are well versed with the ways to use a computer to its full capacity. Here comes in the job of a computer teacher.

A computer teacher is the one who teaches the usage of computers to others. It may be in schools, colleges, offices or anywhere else. Teaching jobs are available plentifully in the job market. Computer teachers can opt for information technology careers, teaching careers, research careers, medical careers and many more. They have so many options available that they can switch fields very easily.

The minimum requirements for a computer teacher’s job are that the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer or information technology. Post graduate degrees are considered when candidates apply for higher positions. Also the candidate must possess all other abilities of an ordinary teacher like motivation, a nurturing nature, understanding for the students, etc. along with the knowledge of computers.

A teaching career in computers is an exciting one as it allows the teacher to stay in constant touch with the computers subject. Education careers as computer teachers are preferred by candidates with a high degree of computer knowledge and a flare for teaching.

Computer teachers are also needed in offices for training jobs in companies and organizations. As a computer teacher is well versed with the usage of computers, his skills can be used in various fields.

Candidates can get training for a computer teacher’s job at various institutions. Some even offer specialized courses which also teach psychology and human behavioral understandings as a part of the curriculum. This gives the teachers an edge over the others. Courses are generally either related to basic computer knowledge or may be for specific computer applications like web designing, graphic designing, animation, etc. Education opportunities for computer teachers are many and vary from school to colleges.

Salaries for computer teachers’ job in school are always on the higher side of the average mark. Even in colleges the scenario remains the same. In Computer companies and I.T. industry, the salaries of well qualified, experienced and knowledgeable teachers are extremely high as compared to their school and college counterparts as companies constantly seek talent and knowledge.

A computer teachers’ career revolves around teaching computers and since the computers and its software keep on changing constantly and rapidly, so does the required knowledge change. Therefore it is very important for the computer teacher to stay in touch with the changes happening and stay updated with it as it can help them to teach the students in a better way. The computer teacher jobs are important catalysts as the field of computer science is highly competitive and there is constant need for the students to have computer knowledge in order to get exposed to a number of job opportunities. Computer teachers are needed to train the student’s right from the basics to web design, system analysis, software applications etc.

The salaries of the teacher depend upon the experience and the type of course he/she teaches. As this field is going to be improving day by day, the demand of the computer teachers won’t decline at any cost and at any point of time.
